DO YOU WANT SHINY HAIR? A CELEBRITY STYLIST HEARS YOUR CRY FOR HELP BY ELIZABETH SIEGEL
By Beaulet_CML

There are times when even beauty editors (me) half-ass their blowouts. But we really shouldn't look like it. Which is why I was so psyched to get a sneak peek at R+Co, a brand new hair-care line from three major (major, major, the major-est) hairstylists: Garren (the man behind a* ton* of famous celebrity cuts, including Karlie Kloss's), Thom Priano, and Howard McLaren. And now, it's finally in stores.

These stylists have not only been doing hair for years, they've been doing the most stylish women's hair for years. So we want to know: What are the questions, complaints, requests, and insider secrets they've been hearing all this time? Turns out, we all want the same thing, and their line's created to bring it. "I wanted the products to deliver shine," says Garren. "Women always want shine, and the hair-color formulas we use—even blonde—are so dulling." There's a variety of glossy ingredients, like argan and babassu oils, in the shampoos, conditioners, and styling products.

The shine-packing line is huge—we're talking 23 shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. I have my favorites: the combo of Atlantis Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner rehabbed my hair after this hellish winter, and Park Ave Blow Out Balm is my kind of styling cream—I can blow-dry my kinda wavy, kinda straight, flyaway-prone hair without a brush and it still looks polished and smooth. I also like the Jackpot Styling Crème, a light texturizer that creates a sexy, tousled effect. "Rub a little between your hands and work it through dry hair to give it a little separation and a cool texture," says Garren. And if you're even more low-maintenance than I am? "The One Prep Spray is great for air-drying. Mist it over the length of damp hair, then tuck your hair behind your ears," says Garren. "You get a subtle wave, and the detangling spray helps prevent frizz."
